WELCOME TO MY WORLD OF DANCE !

Jyoti Unni is an Odissi dancer and choreographer presently based in Singapore.
Jyoti has been groomed in Odissi under leading Gurus of Deba Prasad Das Style of
Odissi , Rabindra Kumar Swain and Sangeeta Dash. Since her ` Manchapravesh`
(debut in stage performance) in 1987, she has performed at several prestigious functions
and events apart from giving lecture–demonstrations in India & Singapore. Jyoti
holds the `Sangeet Prabhakar` in Classical Odissi Dance from Prayag Sangit Samiti ,Allahabad,
with distinction. With her striking stage presence, precise dance techniques &
abhinaya (facial expressions),Jyoti has won popular praise among audience in India &
Singapore. In Singapore Jyoti has performed at `Samvaada - two dance traditions in conversation`
 Onam nite 2011 at esplanade, `Chalo Dilli` inauguration of exhibition on Indian National Army, National Day celebrations at Asian Civilization Museum, Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society Music & Dance
Festival, Lecture Demonstration for National Library Board , to name a few. Jyoti
was featured in a dance series on Classical Indian Dance, `Navarasa` on Vasantham
T.V. Channel. In India Jyoti has performed at leading festivals like Soorya Festival, Trivandrum,
Bharatham Dance Festival (trissur), Swaralaya Swati Sangeetholsavam , Palakkad,
Odissi International -2011 , Bhubaneswar, Odissi Mahotsav , Bhubaneswar.
Jyoti presently imparts training in Odissi at the Global Indian Cultural Centre. Jyoti
is currently the Secretary of World Dance Alliance, Singapore Chapter.
